Angela Benton is recognized on Business Insiders’ list of 25 Most Influential African-Americans in Technology. She can also be found in the number of Fast Company’s Most Influential Women in Technology. Angela is the founder and CEO of NewMe Accelerator, a program aimed to educate, accelerate, and empower minor underrepresented tech founders, especially entrepreneurs of color. Since it went mainstream in 2011. NewMe has raised over $47 million in venture capital funding to help hundreds of entrepreneurs.
Before her NewMe initiative, Angela Benton gained popularity in the tech world because of her website, Black Web 2.0. She launched this news site in 2007 when the tech media failed to acknowledge black innovators. Black Web 2.0 was a platform for black professionals and innovators to be seen and heard. It also provided vital information for African-Americans interested in the tech space.
As a result of her redefining contribution to technology, Angela became the youngest person ever to be inducted into the Minority Media and Telecommunication Council (MMTC) Hall of Fame at the age of 29 in 2010. She has also been featured on prominent international media platforms. This includes Black in America: The New Promised Land: Silicon Valley, a CNN award-winning documentary.

Throughout her career, Angela Benton has been a tireless advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
